Kerala, also known as “Gods own Country” is lush and beautiful. A photographers dream, and the perfect place for a wedding. Unlike Goa, Kerala is still fairly unspoiled by tourism. I can see why Simone and George chose this place for their wedding. They live in the London, and have family and friends from all over the world. So it made perfect sense to have a wedding in Cochin where George is from, and a reception in Toronto, where Simone is from. It all started with a pre wedding day photo session at the Brunton Boatyard Hotel in Fort Cochin.
The wedding day started off with a traditional South Indian Catholic ceremony at The Little Flower Church in
Ernakulam, and followed with a lunch reception; at the Ramada Resort in Cochin where they were escorted in with a procession of Dhol Drummers.
Finally a beautiful sunset boat cruise on the waters of Cochin Harbour and a cocktail reception on a private Island at Bulgatti Palace.
The next morning I was off with the entire bridal party to the Thrissur Pooram Festival, a lavish, colorful festival in Kerala celebrated once a year at of the Vadakkunnathan Temple,
with processions of 50 richly caparisoned elephants accompanied by percussion ensemble, and carrying beautiful hand crafted parasols. I was so fortunate to be there for this incredible event! What an experience!
Two months later the celebrations continued with a Reception in Toronto at The Grand Baccus.
Such a great experience being apart of their families wedding events and I am so honored that they chose me to document both events in India and Canada.
Congratulations Simone and George!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from both events.
