I had photographed many Sri Lankan weddings in the past, so when the opportunity to shoot a Tamil, Hindu wedding in Colombo, I jumped at the opportunity! I have always been fascinated with Sri Lankan culture. So after a busy few months of photographing weddings in India, Nepal, and the US, I was ready for a break, so I decided to finally make the trip to this paradise Island.
I’ve photographed quite a few Sri Lankan weddings now, and after just returning from six weeks in Sri Lanka I am still awe of how beautiful the people are.
And in the case of my model Maliesha, I can tell you it’s not only skin deep.
After a few hectic months of shooting weddings, six weeks off in beautiful Sri Lanka is exactly what I needed.
From a photographers point of view Sri Lanka is truly an inspiring place to be.
Niromi and Sanj celebrated their Sri Lankan Culture with a traditional Buddhist wedding ceremony. They are quite simple, yet very beautiful with some wonderful customs to photograph.
As a wedding photographer I have to say that some of the most memorable weddings I have photographed are Sri Lankan weddings.
They are always very colorful and joyful celebrations.
